Super Ghoul 'N Ghosts New on Wii

Super Ghouls 'N Ghosts image
Fans of old school games will find some treasures at the Wii Store today.

Nintendo has added the classic spy game 'Elevator Action' (NES, 1-2 players, 500 Wii Points) and 'Super Ghouls n’ Ghosts' (Super NES, 1 player, 800 Wii Points), the third entry in the famous franchise.

The lone Sega Genesis entry is 'Sword of Vermilion'. A one player game costing 800 Wii Points, 'Sword' is a role-playing, sword and sorcery game that allows for different views and play styles. Interestingly enough, it was one of the titles featured during the “Genesis does what Nintendon't” campaign in the Nineties when Sega and Nintendo were slugging it out for console supremacy.

Baroque for the Wii by Atlus

Baroque box artIn August, the niche Japanes RPG publisher Atlus Co. Persona 3 gained notoriety for characters' penchats for self-inflicted gunshot wounds to aid them in their magic-making. Running with that theme, Atlus today announced that it would be bringing Sting Entertainment's Baroque, again a game where death helps push things forward, to the Wii and PlayStation 2 in February.

While the most would argue that death is a pursuit worth avoiding, Baroque will apparently reward players for meeting their untimely demises. Atlus is promising a punishingly difficult, yet addictive, dungeon-crawling experience, where players search for items and pwer-ups as they attempt to unlock the secrets of the postapoclyptic world in which they have awoken.

Baroque is rated T for Teen.

Guilty Gear XX Accent Core

Guilty Gear XX Accent Core wii box2D fighting games may not be as popular as they used to be, but Arc System Works' Guilty Gear series has continued to chug along over the years. The newest edition in the series is Guilty Gear XX Accent Core, and just in case the title didn't make it obvious, this is the latest edition in a long-running series with a lot of different features that have evolved over time. Even so, casual fighting-game fans should be able to get into the game rather easily. It isn't hard to get started dishing out big, long combination attacks by hammering away on various buttons. But hardcore Guilty Gear fans will get the most out of the new game because it has a few new features that make higher-level play a bit more interesting. Just make sure you have either a Classic or GameCube controller handy, because even though the game supports the Wii Remote with Nunchuk attachment, it's best played on a more traditional controller.

Like with many other games of this sort, this 2D fighting game offers one-on-one matchups between characters inspired by Japanese anime cartoon designs who heroically shout out the names of their mighty fighting techniques in battle. In the Guilty Gear series, you can attack your opponent with a combination of punches, kicks, and two different types of "slashing" attacks (most characters carry a weapon or some equivalent) by stringing together punches, kicks, and slashes with other types of attacks on the ground, and also in the air as part of extended "juggle" attacks. But the game's character designs are clearly intended to be as bizarre as possible. Among the roster, you'll find a masked man who wields a pool cue as a weapon; a young girl whose weapon is a gigantic talking key that's bigger than she is; and a hunched-over zombie who won't stop talking to himself. Technically, none of the game's default characters is all-new, but several characters have been updated and fine-tuned slightly for balance purposes. Pretty much all of the game's characters seem strong enough to compete against each other.

WWE SmackDown! vs. RAW 2008 for Wii

2008 WWE SmackDown vs RAW WiiOf course, everybody knows what this game is. Probably only newborn babies aren't aware of this game. Just to get on the topic, WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2008 is developed by YUKE's Future Media Creators and released for such a lot of gaming consoles. These are PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PSP, Nintendo DS, and also for Wii. This is the latest edition of the ever long-running wrestling show, the WWE SmackDown! video game series based on the, of course WWE itself. This game is the sequel to WWE Smackdown vs. Raw 2007 and is the first SmackDown game to include the ECW.

Gameplay
For this sequel of WWE game, the wrestlers now has two fighting style that they can use, one primary and one secondary. Each of the wrestlers' fighting style has its own advantages and disadvantages in each particular match type. This are the available fighting styles: high-flyer, hardcore, submission artist, powerhouse, showman, brawler, dirty, and technical. For the wrestlers' special move, those are based solely on their primary style.

Modes
Several different game modes to be played are allowed on this game, of course, each of them has their own goals and options. The general manager and season modes of previous games have been merged into the new "WWE 24/7" mode. Players can also choose to play one of the game's included superstars, a created superstar or as a general manager of one of the brand. Playing as a wrestler, the goal is to take that wrestler and achieve "legend" status. Several match types to be played are allowed on this game. This mainly includes the Iron Man Match; Battle Royal; Hell in a Cell; Tables, Ladders, and Chairs; Hardcore; Ladder match; the Elimination Chamber; and Royal Rumble among others.

For the Wii Platform
The game differs significantly on the platform that it is played on. For the Wii, its version features five match types. These are, Single, Tag Team, KO Match, Triple Threat and Hardcore. The Wii version lacks a WWE Shop and features a smaller move list compared to the other options.

Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3

Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3 box artHere comes another sequel for the old awesome anime ever from Japan, the Dragonball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3. Most gamers are focusing with the new ones like Naruto and Bleach and any other anime from Japan that is turned into games. This games are getting popular eh? After all, I find them very enjoyable to play especially with my friends.

To keep track with the tradition, Budokai Tenkaichi 3 offers plenty of crazy blasting of ki energy and enough Dragon Ball fan service to raise up your power lover for over 9000, but there's not a whole lot of innovation or terribly deep combat. One thing the game does have, however, is a good variety of different game modes. The main story mode is named Dragon History, and it takes you through a mess of battles made famous in all three Dragon Ball series and the movies. Dragon History mode loses the map that you have to navigate inbetween fights in the previous Budokai Tenkaichi 2, which helps streamline of the battles and keeps the action moving along.

You may consider many Dragon History bouts have been tackled in many previous games, some effort has been put into this mode to make one of a hell fresh fights. There are scripted moments within many of the battles. This triggers a new event of stor within the real fight, the results are usually in your current character flying out of the ring and an ally coming in to take over. Druing the match, you may hear multiple characters talking to advance in the storyline of the game. It's a little odd at first of course, you might get pissed with it, but it does a good job of replicating the feel of the anime.

The Dragon World Tour mode allows you to advance through a ranked tournament and the Ultimate Battle contains a few variants on the classic survival mode. One of the more interesting Ultimate Battle modes is being dubbed by Sim Dragon, which gives you ten turns to make your chosen fighter as strong as he or she can get. Each trun is completely menu-driven, and you can opt to train, explore, or rest your character. Making the proper decisions will boost or lower their stats and health. Once the ten days are up, you face off against an opponent with your current abilities. It's somewhat simple but it's an interesting twist on what is normally a fairly dry mode in fighting games.

Spider-Man: Friend or Foe on Wii

Spider-Man Friend or FoeThe big concept twist that Spider-Man: Friend or Foe offers up revolves around Spider-Man teaming up with some of his most memorable foes, In a reference to Venom's origin story from Spider-Man 3, some unknown mastermind is using shards from the meteor that spawned the symbiotic suit to brainwash villains such as Doc Ock and the Green Goblin to do his bidding, as well as to power an army of holographic monster called phantoms. With the help of S.H.I.E.L.D. director Nick Fury, you trot the globe, recover the shards, and free the brainwashed villains, which turns enemies into allies. As thin as the premise is, the game's joke, playful tone makes it seem less far-fetched, and it ultimately serves its purpose of letting you fight alongside some of Spidey's greatest villains, a concept that manages to stay novel throughout. You'll also team up with other heroes along the way, inlucding Spidey regulars such as Prowler, Black Cat, and Silver Sable, as well as b-team favorites such as Iron Fist and Blade. A big part of what carries the humor in Friend or Foe is the quality of the voice work, which is consistently great.

Gameplay
Choose a sidekick from a long list of Spider-Man's powerful allies and swap between the web-slinger and the chosen sidekicks at any time during gameplay. Each sidekick, good or evil, features their own unique attributes that will assist Spider-Man throughout the game's challenges.
A unique co-op mode lets friends join the game at any time and take control of Spider-Man's sidekick. Playing in two-player co-op mode allows gamers to discover new ways to overcome obstacles and enemies.
As players progress through the game, battle arenas are unlocked where raw one-on-one brawling with any Super Hero or Villain can take place at any time.

Medal of Honor: Vanguard on Wii

Medal of Honor VanguardMedal of Honor: Vanguard is the 10th installment in the long-running series of Medal of Honor of the classic World War II first-person shooting game. It was developed by Electronic Arts' Los Angeles studio in order for the releasing in the featured game console of Nintendo Wii and Sony Playstation 2.

Honor these Soldiers

Game Features
In this game, you play as Corporal Frank Keegan, a member of the 82nd Airborne Division. Corporal Keegan is transferred later to the 17th Airborne Division after the Operation Market Garden, and before the Operation Varsity.

Vanguard's features are similar to the other Medal of Honor game, the Medal of Honor: Airborne. In this game, you are able to customize the character's weapons, such as adding a scope to a M1 Garand and a larger ammo drum for a Thompson, although these upgrades are only available on certain levels missions only.

At the start of some the levels, players parachute onto a battlefield, and they can roughly designate where they land. Players who land at certain points in a level will be able to pick up weapon upgrades and ammunition. Missions can be played out in different ways depending on where you land and which weapons you obtain.

Content wise, bot versions of the game are the same. However, the Wii version implements the Wii Remote to accomplish such movements as shooting, reloading, making quick turns, jumping, and crouching. These certain actions are accomplished with a standard video game interface on the PS2 version, and also an option on the Wii.

Vehicles have not been included in the final game, as EA wishes to focus on foot battles.
